Description

Central Piedmont Community College can be found in the city of Charlotte in North Carolina, USA. It was formed in 1963 after the merger of Mecklenburg College and the Central Industrial Education Center. The college currently has seven campuses through which it offers a wide range of associate degrees, diplomas and certificates. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

The Paralegal Technology Programs at Central Piedmont Community College are the only legal assistant programs in western North Carolina that are approved both by the American Bar Association and the North Carolina State Bar. The programs are also cheaper than similar courses being offered in the Charlotte Mecklenburg area. The college has basically two programs – an undergraduate and a graduate one.

The undergraduate program, Associate in Applied Science in Paralegal Technology is meant for students who have completed high school or a similar qualification. The Associates program is a 72 credit hours program, which includes college level general education courses and substantive and procedural legal specialty coursework.

The graduate program at Central Piedmont Community College is the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Paralegal Technology. It has been designed for students who currently hold a bachelor’s degree or higher qualification from an accredited college or university. This diploma program consists of 40 credit hours of course work, legal specialty classes as well as modules on public speaking, computers, and behavioral science.
