Description

J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, established in 1972 is a part of the Virginia Community College System. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the associate degree. It operates from three campuses the Parham Road Campus, Western Campus and the Downtown Campus.

It offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Paralegal studies and the program is approved by the American Bar Association. The program trains the students as legal assistants or paralegals to work under the supervision of an attorney.

Successful graduates can work in private law firms, administrative agencies as well as governmental agencies. They may also approach mortgage companies, title insurance companies, and corporations for employment. The minimum credits for AAS degree in legal assisting general practice specialization is 67 hours.
