 Description
 
 Metropolitan Community College was established in 1974, and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It is a member of the North Central Association. It offers about 100 certificate, diploma and associate degree programs in career and technical areas for students of nearly four counties. It has more than 45000 students and 180 full-time faculty, 539 part-time faculty as well as 457 continuing education instructors. The Classes are conducted at three campuses, three centers as well as other locations. Classes are also offered online for those students seeking flexible schedules. It offers a legal assistant program that can lead up to an Associate in Applied Science Degree. The curriculum consists of programs such as English Composition II, Public Speaking, The Constitution OR American National Government, Statistics, Critical Reasoning, Microcomputer Accounting Applications OR Information Systems and Literacy, Human Relations Skills, Business Law I, The Legal Assistant, Introduction To Law, Litigation, WordPerfect, Legal Research and Writing I, Legal Research and Writing II,  Internship I, Internship II, Elective such as Business Law II, Computer-Aided Legal Research, Torts, Legal Remedies, Family Law, Employment Law, Criminal Law, Bankruptcy, Credit & Collections Law, Evidence and Discovery, Estate Administration, Insurance Law, Law of Corporations, Elder Law and Real Estate Law are also offered. It also offers a Legal Assistant Associate Degree Program of Study with specialization in commercial law, family law and litigation. An accelerated certificate in Legal assistant program is also available.
