Description

Mount San Antonio College was established in 1945 and opened in the fall of 1946 and is named after the mountain that is visible from the campus. It offers more than 200 degree and certificate programs in a variety of fields of study. It has about 40,000 students and 400 full-time faculty members. It is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

The core requirements include courses such as Introduction to Paralegal/Legal Specialist, Legal Analysis and Writing, Advanced Legal and Writing, Civil Procedure Pretrial, Civil Procedure Trial and Post-trial, Law Office Procedures, Automated Law Office Procedures, Ethics and Job Search Strategies, Tort Law, and Contract Law.

One of the following specialty options has to be taken up to earn an Associate in Science Degree in paralegal studies. The Landlord/Tenant option offers courses such as Landlord/Tenant Law, and Property Law. The Family Law Option offers courses such as Property Law, Family Law, Wills and Trusts. The Corporate/Business Option includes Business Law, Advanced Business Law, and International Business Law. The Criminal Law Option includes Criminal Law & Procedures, Evidence Law, and the Bankruptcy Option includes Property Law, Bankruptcy Law and Creditors' Rights.

English classes, Typing/Keyboarding, Typing/Keyboarding Laboratory, Microsoft Word, Real Estate Principles, Legal Aspects of Real Estate, Escrow Procedures I, and Federal Income Tax Law are other courses that are usually recommended but not compulsory.
