For students who are keen on becoming professional paralegals or legal assistants, the University of Cincinnati Clermont offers a paralegal Bachelor of Science program to equip students for the challenges of working in a legal environment. The program is approved by the American Bar Association and offers students the opportunity to pursue an advanced degree as well.

Apart from the subjects related to paralegal studies, students must also choose a focus area course on subjects like addictions studies, criminal justice, political science or woman's studies. Apart from this, students will learn about constitutional law, litigation and an introduction to the paralegal profession and what it entails.

Students will learn about basic legal principles as well as how to do legal research. They will also learn about estates and probates, tax laws, administrative litigation, computer applications, interviewing and investigation skills and legal ethics. Students will attend advanced paralegal seminars and learn about law practice management. The course also offers special elective courses in subjects like domestic relations, criminal law, bankruptcy and debt collection, copyrights, conflict resolution and environmental law.
